i2s and aquasmart presence in WCAF-2016

i2sAquaSmart Logo is excited to be present at the 5th Annual World Congress of Aquaculture and Fisheries 2016, WCAF-2016. i2s, among other activities, is a key member of the European project aquasmart, a team that aims at making technologies,  such as, big data, data mining and cloud computing accessible to all the fish farming community, so as to support smarter decisions, better production and efficient management.

Aquasmart team will be represented by Kostas Seferis,  CEO and Managing Director of i2s SA. Participating in WCAF-2016 will give him the opportunity to introduce aquaSmart platform. aquaSmart, which is a Horizon 2020 EU project,  provides to aquaculture managers valuable tools in order to support decision making and thus further improve the efficiency and profit of their enterprises.

In more detail he will present:

  • an overview of the most common aquaculture key performance indicators (KPIs) and benchmarking practices used in the aquaSmart platform and
  • cases in order to demonstrate the comparative analysis of production performance indicators, via the aquaSmart platform

The 5th Annual World Congress of Aquaculture and Fisheries-2016, WCAF-2016, initiated from 2012, had been successfully organized in Dalian (2012 & 2014), Hangzhou (2013), and Qingdao (2015) attracted more than 1000 participants from 40 countries. The theme of WCAF-2016 is “Technology Innovation & Profitable Sustainability” and includes Plenary Lectures, Keynote Forum and Parallel Session Speech. WCAF has been created to benefit industry professionals, and the program includes specific topical industry sessions, which will be very informative and practical.

WCAF-2016 will be held during November 4-6, 2016 at Hilton Qingdao Golden Beach (HQGB), in Qingdao, China which is the biggest city of Shandong Province and is located in the east part of China. Qingdao is also known for its beautiful coastal scenes and fascinating scenery.
